John Smith is a TC2 Senior Consultant based in Denver, Colorado. His work experience has largely centered on contract negotiations and pricing benchmarks for wireline voice and data services, and for wireless services.
Before coming to TC2 in 2008, John served nine years as a Telecom Procurement lead for First Data Corporation, the country’s largest credit card processor and short-call transaction network. John is experienced with managing carrier contracts in excess of $100 million and achieving market-leading rates and significant savings targets year-over-year.
John is also well-versed in carrier tactics and negotiation strategy. Prior to First Data, John worked at Sprint and at BellSouth Long Distance in the Market and Business Analysis group, where he was responsible for pricing and negotiating hundreds of customer contracts. He developed special pricing for voice and data products and filed tariffs for commercial mid-market and national accounts, as well as the wholesale carrier segment.
John holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
