T-Mobile swims in the other direction, gobbles up consumer wireless player

That thud you hear is the enterprise impact of today’s announced merger between T-Mobile USA and MetroPCS, which is very little. MetroPCS is largely a provider of calling plans to consumers of very modest means attracted to the no-subscription or prepaid wireless market. T-Mobile’s getting together with MetroPCS is rather different than its planned deal with AT&T would have been, to say the least.
